Participant Requirements

Team Composition: Proposals must be submitted by teams of 2–6 individuals.

Age: All participants must be 18 years or older.

Eligibility: Team members must be residents of Southeast Asia.

Language: Participants must have sufficient English proficiency to engage fully in the event.

Backgrounds: Teams are welcome from TVET and university institutions, NGOs, government bodies, or the startup community.

Availability: All team members must be able to travel to Hanoi on 25–26 October. Finalist teams will have their travel and accommodation covered by RMIT University, but participants must hold a valid passport and visa (if required) for international travel.

Diversity: We strongly encourage diverse teams to apply and bring a range of perspectives to the challenge

Judging Criteria

Innovation:

  • How novel and creative is the solution?

  • Does it introduce a new concept, approach, or use of technology?

Functionality:

  • How well does the solution perform its intended function?

  • Is it technically sound, feasible, and free from major performance issues?

User Experience:

  • Is the solution intuitive and user-friendly?

  • Does the design provide a positive overall experience for users?

Impact & Scalability:

  • How significant is the problem being addressed, and how well does the solution respond to it?

  • What is the potential value for users, communities, or society more broadly?

  • Can the solution be scaled or adapted for wider use?

Presentation:

  • How clearly and effectively is the project communicated?

  • Is the pitch engaging, well-structured, and aligned with the goals and outcomes of the challenge?

Information Session

Participants are invited to register for an online Information Session on Thursday, 25 September 2025 at 5:00PM ICT. This session will cover Hackathon details and give you the chance to ask questions.

The session will include a Lean Canvas introduction workshop to help you shape your proposal. You can also watch a short tutorial in advance.
